Amber Fraser


Office Manager and Personal Assistant to the Director of Plastic Surgery, Heather Cleland

Amber joined the Department of Plastic and Maxillofacial administration team at The Royal Children’s Hospital in May 2007. Amber provides leadership and operational planning for the department, as well as managing administrative staff and providing personal assistance and support to the Director. The office manager works closely with the Director to ensure optimum management of the day to day operations of the department.

Pru Hamilton


Cleft and Craniofacial Clinical Nurse Consultant

Pru is the craniofacial co-ordinator at the Royal Children's Hospital. She works closely with health care professionals/providers at the hospital and at maternity hospitals and other health care agencies. Pru acts as a clinical resource for patients and families with craniofacial conditions.

Annette Da Costa


Clinical Neuropsychologist


Annette is a clinical neuropsychologist with specialist expertise in the area of craniofacial and cleft disorders. She completed her general psychology training before pursuing subspecialty training in the field of neuropsychology. Her PhD studies focused on the poorly understood area of the thinking, learning and behavioural features of paediatric craniofacial disorders.

Since completing her PhD, Annette has maintained her passion for the field of paediatric craniofacial disorders, and currently holds a clinical and research appointment with the cleft and craniofacial team at RCH. Annette strives toward optimising the developmental, educational and psychosocial outcomes of children with craniofacial conditions and enhancing the quality of life of these children and their families through her clinical and research activities.

Research conducted by Annette and her colleagues is committed to improving understanding of the nature, causes and developmental implications of paediatric craniofacial disorders, so that we can provide the highest quality of clinical care to these children and their families. Research conducted by our team has attracted Federal Government and hospital based funding.

Annette is also a sessional lecturer to graduate neuropsychology students, and presents at both national and international conferences on the neuropsychological implications of craniofacial disorders.
