Mark Jones



Chairman

Mark is a Partner in KPMG’s Risk Advisory Services practice with national responsibility for corporate governance. He has previously provided external audit, internal audit and accounting and advisory services.

Mark is a member of both the Australian and Asia Pacific executive teams for the Risk Advisory Services practice, with responsibility for internal risk management. He’s a director of the Brain Research Institute Pty Ltd, a medical research organisation focused on brain diseases and disorders and an alternate director, including audit committee chairman, for Florey Neuroscience Institutes. Mark is also a member of the Audit and Risk Management Committee of the Melbourne Girls Grammar School.

Mark is a Fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, and is a member of both CPA Australia and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.


Laura Anderson



Board Member

Laura is an independent Company Director and Corporate Advisor and Chairman of the L’Oréal Melbourne Festival. She’s also on the Board of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation and serves on the Audit and Risk Committee and the Remuneration Committee of that Board. She’s on the National Board of the Starlight Children’s Foundation and is Chairman of the Victorian Advisory Board.

From 2001 to 2004, Laura was the National Partner in Charge of Strategy and Development for KPMG Australia and was the founding Partner of KPMG Australia’s Risk and Advisory Services for Industry Practice. Laura was a Non-Executive Director of the Just Group and a Director of Eastern Health. Laura is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the National Association of Corporate Directors in Washington DC and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Transport.

Tony Holmes



Board Member and Founder of the Jigsaw Foundation

Tony is currently Head of Cleft and Craniofacial Surgery at the Royal Children’s Hospital. He is qualified in both general surgery and plastic surgery and trained in Australia and at Harvard. He set up the Melbourne Craniofacial Unit in 1979 and was also the Director of the Department of Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery from 1990 to 2003.

Tony’s surgical passion is facial reconstruction and he has refined and developed new procedures to cope with many major and difficult craniofacial reconstructive problems.

Tony has presented and published extensively, nationally and internationally and has received major awards from the RCH for outstanding service. Tony has trained over twenty-five Craniofacial Fellows, the majority of whom have gone on to become heads of departments, here and overseas. Tony is proud to have developed a leading world centre at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.

In 1990, he set up the Children’s Craniofacial Foundation of Australasia, which is now the Jigsaw Foundation.

John Kirby



Board Member

B.Ec, CPA

John is Deputy Chairman of Village Roadshow Limited and Chairman of Village Roadshow Corporation, the major shareholder.  He is currently a member of the Advisory Board to The Salvation Army, a Director of the Surf Life Saving Foundation and Deputy Chairman of The Conversation Media Group.  He was 2011 President of the Australian Cinema Pioneers.

John has held a number of executive positions in cinema, exhibition, film distribution, radio, theme parks, construction and strategy over his 50 years within the Village Roadshow Group.  He has been at the forefront on cinema and theme park development.  He pioneered and guided Village’s successful radio investments.

John is a former member of Progressive Business Victoria, the Victorian Advisory Council of the Australian Opera, former Chairman of Sponsors Appeal Committee of the Victorian College of the Arts, former Deputy Chairman of the Interim Council of the National Film and Sound Archive, and a former member of the Victorian Premier’s Multi Media Task Force.

John Meara



Board Member

John is Plastic Surgeon-in-Chief of the Department of Plastic Surgery at the Harvard Children’s Hospital Boston. He’s qualified in Medicine, Dentistry, Otolaryngology and Plastic Surgery. He received postgraduate training in cleft and craniofacial surgery at the Royal Children’s Hospital with Tony Holmes.

After two years at Los Angles Children’s Hospital, John was recruited back to Melbourne and became Professor Director of the Department of Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery. He gained an MBA from Melbourne University and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. John was appointed Chief of Surgery at the Royal Children’s Hospital in 2003 and also became a Board member of the Jigsaw Foundation. He and his family hold dual Australian and American citizenship.

John was recruited to the Children’s Hospital Boston in 2006 and has been integral in helping with combined research and training between our Institutions.

At the Children’s Hospital Boston, John helped expand the then Division of Plastic Surgery into an independent Department of Plastic Surgery, one of the few in the United States. He remains a passionate member of the Jigsaw Board.
